The much awaited Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench is all set to start functioning from the make-shift office from the 17th day of August 2018. Which means the litigants and law firms of the North Bengal need no longer (at least in near future) perish through the taxing journey to Calcutta to fight their case.
Initially the Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench will cover the Districts of Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar to begin with.
A total of Six judges in two Writ Courts and two Division Bench will start adjudicating upon the disputes brought before in law from the date of inauguration itself. The Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench shall be holding hearing three days a week to begin with.
